House Clearance Kilmarnock

House Clearance In Kilmarnock Case Example: Client instructions

In this case, a client contacted us to ask if we could clear a house that she’d just inherited from a great-aunt who had died childless, and had left the house to her. The property was larger than the one where the client currently lived with her husband and two young children, so they had decided to move there.

First they wanted to completely clear the property, which was a detached Victorian townhouse with four bedrooms, two receptions and good-sized garden in a pleasant neighbourhood of Kilmarnock. After the house clearance, they planned to put in a new kitchen and bathroom and to redecorate throughout.

The client had already removed those personal effects of her great-aunt’s that she wanted to keep but she asked us to look out for anything of value or for anything that might be of interest to the family.

Kilmarnock House Clearance Report

As the property was in a quiet, residential neighbourhood, we had no difficulty in parking the two unmarked vans we’d brought to do the job. We started on the first floor, clearing the four bedrooms. We packed smaller items such as clothing and ornaments into boxes then removed the larger items of furniture.

We’d finished the upper floor by noon and we then made a start on the downstairs rooms, a sitting room-cum-study, a lounge and a large kitchen. The white goods and fitted kitchen were quite new so we’d been asked to leave them in place although we did remove a large kitchen table and matching chairs.

Once we had all of the furniture out of the house, we gave the property a final tidy up and clean to complete the job.

Kilmarnock House Contents Disposal

Most of the furniture was serviceable but of little secondhand value. We suggested to the clients that we could donate it to charity which they were very happy to go along with. All of those items, and the clothing and ornaments, went to two local charity shops in the Kilmarnock area.

The dining table with a set of six chairs was from the 1950s and made by Ercol. We advised the clients that it was quite collectible and that we could sell it for them.

A few items of furniture were beyond use, and those went to a recycling waste facility.

Kilmarnock Customer Feedback

The clients were very happy with our thorough and speedy work and said they would certainly recommend us to family and friends. They were very pleased with the cash we’d raised from selling the Ercol furniture which went to offset the cost of the house clearance.
