House Clearance Barrhead

House Clearance In Barrhead Case Example: Client instructions

A client called to ask if we could clear a small terraced house on the outskirts of Barrhead. The property had been left to him by his grandfather who had died a couple of months earlier. The client was the executor of his grandfather’s estate as both his parents lived abroad He needed to clear the property so that it could be sold and the proceeds divided according to the terms of the will.

The client asked us to clear everything that remained in the property including cloths, books and furniture. He and other relatives had already taken various items they wanted to keep, but he asked us to look out for anything of value, monetary or sentimental. We are very experienced in the delicate task of sorting through personal possessions after someone has died, so we were happy to agree to this.

Barrhead House Clearance Report

For this job, we had decided that we needed only two men with one large van as the house was quite small. We started on the ground floor by clearing all the smaller items and boxing them up. We then moved the larger items of furniture. Once we’d finished the ground floor we moved up to the first floor where we repeated the process.

It was in one of the bedrooms that we found an interesting item – an old jewellery box with some Victorian pieces and some early 20th century art deco pieces. We put that to one side and handed it over to the client at the end of the day.

We finished the clearance by about 4 in the afternoon and then spent a further hour cleaning and tidying the property.

Barrhead House Contents Disposal

Most of the furniture we’d cleared was of little value but still serviceable and we suggested to the client that we could donate those items to local charities, an idea he was pleased to agree with. Books, bric-a-brac and clothing that we’d cleared went to a local charity shop in Barrhead. Old newspapers and magazines were recycled.

In the end, only a very small amount of contents from the clearance went to landfill.

Barrhead Customer Feedback

The client thanked us for our hard work and the respectful way that we’d dealt with the clearance at a time when he was still grieving for his grandfather. He was delighted to receive the jewellery box which contained items belonging to his late grandmother.
